About the Role:EPS Group has an immediate vacancy for a Water Treatment Plant Operator based in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.As part of our growing team, you will be responsible for the operational activities on drinking water treatment plants.The role requires a good understanding of both the Water and Wastewater Treatment process, full training will be provided for the successful candidate.Key Responsibilities:Routine operational duties and regular preventative maintenance tasks are a basic function of this roleGeneral duties both inside and outside in all weathersProcess monitoring and completing record sheets and taking process samplesManual work may be required from time to timeRole ranges from process control, operation of equipment and monitoring to basic mechanical maintenance and repairGeneral housekeeping activities such as cleaning and washing plant and areas down and grounds maintenance also requiredTreatment process is fully automated and has a comprehensive control systemBasic use of IT/computers is requiredAwareness of need to follow formal procedures and safe working methods essentialFlexibility with hours of work is vital for this role including occasional weekend work and bank holiday work, as participation in a regular stand by and call out rota Key Competencies and Skills:Good use of reading English and excellent communication skillsBasic Computer literacyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively on your own initiative or in a team environmentHave a willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and wastewater industryQualifications;Experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants – although similar process experience will be consideredExperience in operating mechanical and electrical plant and machinery requiredThe person will live in the locality of the Carrickmacross area, as timely access to the site within the responsibility of the role, a company vehicle will be provided and so a full clean driving licence is obligatoryCompensation Package:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for professional development and career growthCPD accredited employerA collaborative and supportive work environmentFlexible working options, dependent on location and role requirementsSee company website for more information on the benefits of working in EPS Group We welcome speculative applications from individuals of all levels.If you are interested in working with us but are not sure if the role above is for you, please feel free to get in touch for an informal discussion about what we do and what you could bring to the team.
