Warehouse Operative (Fixed Term)

FIXED TERM - 3 MONTH OPPORTUNITY with the potential to be extended.Using appropriate materials handling equipment, working in accordance with all safety and quality requirements, with particular attention to safety of pedestrians in the factory and loading bay/yard:-       Offloading of incoming deliveries and movement to the correct locations in the factory;-       Checking incoming deliveries (item/quantity /delivery note/purchase order);-       Reviewing production schedule/works order requirements, ensuring that required components are available in production;-       Moving finished goods pallets from production to warehouse locations;-       Reviewing Despatch schedule and loading finished goods released by quality;-       Completing required Despatch documentation;-       Accurately recording movement and location of materials on the stock system;-       Undertaking any required checks on materials handling equipment, identifying and reporting any maintenance/repair requirements;-       Completing all required records, including traceability records, and performance indicators;-       Maintaining high standards of housekeeping;-       Following waste management procedures;-       Contributing to identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement (safety, quality, output, cost/efficiency…);-       Ensuring all external delivery/distribution drivers follow required safety instructions;-       Carry out other tasks that support the warehouse, assembly and packaging operation.These tasks are not intended as an exhaustive list of the post holder’s duties. The post holder is expected to carry out any reasonable request as deemed appropriate by the Shift Leader to support business needs. Specific responsibilities and authorities are defined in procedures relevant to the role.Experience:EssentialWarehouse operations in a manufacturing or logistics organisationInterpreting production and despatch data to move stock in accordance with production and despatch requirementsDesirableWorking in an electronic assembly operationQualifications and training:Essential RTITB or equivalent license in Forklift Truck operation - Counterbalance General secondary or vocational qualifications (e.g. GCSEs, BTEC Certificate..) including Maths & EnglishDesirable RTITB or equivalent license in Fork Lift Truck operation - Reach Other attributes:Organised and methodicalAttention to detailRigorous in following work instructionWilling to contribute to improving business performanceAble to interact and communicate effectively with staff and delivery/distribution driversReliable and a good timekeeperPrepared to be flexible in the range of tasks required of them to support the businessWilling to be flexible in response to any need to work additional hours
