About the roleThe Tank Museum boasts the biggest and most engaged YouTube audience of any Museum in the world, with over 1m subscribers and 350m channel views. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Marketing & Engagement to deliver The Tank Museum’s industry leading YouTube strategy.They will lead the Media Team in the production of content and in the management of The Tank Museum’s long form video production, delivering excellent results in the successful engagement of its audiences. In overseeing the ideation, production and publication process, the post holder will lead the Media Team to retain consistently high standards in line with best practice and conventions of the YouTube platform. Key AccountabilitiesTo work closely with the Head of Marketing & Engagement in the management and delivery of The Tank Museum’s media production requirements, including:Overseeing the video ideation and preproduction processes.Ensuring scripts have been well written, researched and edited for production.Overseeing the production and postproduction processes to ensure quality and volume of output is maintained – exercising handson involvement.Ensure content is published and optimised, and the “back catalogue” of video content is appropriately managed.In undertaking the above, to ensure:All output is in alignment with The Tank Museum’s content creation principals, meeting the needs of the audience and delivering against performance metrics.That our processes are followed, ensuring quality and efficiency standards are consistently applied to achieve the best possible results.That YouTube conventions and best practices are adhered to as they evolve.Manage Media Team personnel, its budget and equipment – bringing in freelancers and external support as required. What you'll bringHigh level of education, demonstrating an excellent standard of written English.Professional training in media/video production is preferred.Demonstrable experience in script writing and script editing.Experience in working in video production, in a story telling focussed environment.This role will suit an ambitious, enthusiastic and creative and media production professional. It’s an exciting, hands on role that requires a combination of practical and creative production skills, attention to detail and leadership abilities.We’re looking for a candidate with a solid understanding of the YouTube ecosystem and able to interpret data to improve decision making and outputs. Script writing/editing skills will be a distinct advantage.The ability to work calmly and collaboratively around the needs of a busy visitor attraction to regular deadlines is a must.Due to the nature of this role remote working will not be considered, but we are open to discussing flexible working around the requirements of the role.
