Transport Refrigeration Engineer

Ballinlough has an exciting opportunity for refrigeration engineers to join our growing team in our Cork Depot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing refrigeration systems in vehicles such as trucks, trailers, and vans. The successful candidate will be experienced in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration system issues and have a deep understanding of electrical and electronic components. They should have strong communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work independently or as part of a team.Responsibilities:Inspect and diagnose refrigeration system problemsRepair and replace defective components such as compressors, condensers, and evaporatorsCharge refrigeration systems with the appropriate amount of refrigerantTest and adjust system components to ensure optimal performancePerform preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems to minimise breakdowns and extend system lifeInstall new refrigeration systems in vehiclesTroubleshoot electrical and electronic components such as sensors, thermostats, and control systemsKeep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performedFollow safety protocols and regulationsRequirements:Proven experience as a transport refrigeration engineerStrong knowledge of refrigeration systems and their componentsExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamStrong communication skillsAbility to maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performedAttention to detailValid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:Technical training or certification in refrigeration or related fieldExperience working with Thermo King or Carrier refrigeration systemsWe are an equal opportunity employer and welcome all qualified candidates to apply.
