Theatre Stores Person

The Theatre stores person is responsible for Stores in the Operating Department and is responsible for all stock management, ordering and control within the Department.This role is on a permanent, full time basis working 39 hours per week. The Role:Demonstrate the ability in identifying and assisting in the maintenance of a safe and secure environment.Tidying and stocking of all theatre supplies and anesthetic supplies in each storeroom.Ensure all oxygen/nitrous oxide and CO2 gas cylinders are stocked in the Operating Theatres and order when necessary.Check changing rooms for supplies and tidiness and report any problems concerning cleaning.Observe hospital policies for the safe disposal of sharps and waste.Place daily orders with the Material supply department.Maintain computerized stock records working with the Material supply department to down count/update/verify stock throughout the year.Receive stores and put into stock.Minimize excess stock and obsolete materials exposure.Participate and coordinate yearly stock take.Communicate with clinical nurse managers on stock levels, stock on back order and alternatives offered.Any other duties as assigned by your manager.Organizing and preparation of stock while paying particular attention to meeting the service user demands and needs under the supervision of the Theatre Clinical Nurse Manager.Demonstrate motivation to organize and deliver own workload.Demonstrate evidence of effective planning and organizational skills including awareness of time management. The Candidate: Previous experience in a similar role desirable.Excellent communication skills, ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.  Flexibility in work practices.Good IT skills. Closing date for receipt of applications: Monday, April 28th 2025 at 4.30 pm Blackrock Health Galway Clinic is an Equal Opportunities Employer
