Technical Director Civil Engineering (Water)Location is flexible (Hybrid - Travel requiredPermanent, full timeCompetitive salary plus benefitsWe are currently seeking to recruit for a Technical Director Civil Engineering (Water) to join us here at Aqua Consultants. This would be a full-time, permanent position.Location(s): Hybrid work. Opportunity to work from our offices in Bradford, Exeter, Leeds, Birmingham and Gateshead.Sector: Predominantly working within the Water industry but may cover wider utilities and infrastructure.Qualifications: Degree in Civil or Structural engineering. Chartered Engineer, Member of IStructE or ICEDeep dive in the role:Take a leading role in the development and delivery of Aqua’s civil structural engineering services.Apply their knowledge and experience, either working independently or supervising a team.Undertake technical design and analysis for both new build and existing steel, reinforced above and below ground concrete civil structures, using appropriate structural analysis and design packages, following local and national guidance.Collaborate and form relationships with others at all levels, both inside and outside Aqua to support multi-disciplinary project delivery.Lead and implement high levels of quality assurance, and consider sustainability and safety, at all stages of the design and asset lifecycle.Support the preparation of briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.Successfully manage time and budgets to project milestones and programmes.Contribute to the growth and development of yourself and others.About you:· Experience of the water / utilities sector is preferred, with a professional network within water and sewerage companies.· Detailed knowledge of structural engineering codes – Eurocodes / BSI etc· Extensive experience of RC design and detailing including water retaining structures, soil retaining structures, foundation design.· Experience of steelwork design.· Knowledge of geotechnics and soil-structure interactions.· Ability to prepare, review and approve structural designs.· Knowledge of computational analysis techniques and software, knowledge of BIM is an advantage.· Ability to inspect, diagnose and make recommendations relating to re-use or adaptation of existing structures.Why Aqua Consultants?We are a fast growing organisation with highly experienced staff at the heart of everything we do.
