Accountabilities: Site Support and Projects - Our people and team are what make us stand out- Provide hands-on technical support to our retail packing sites, this includes upskilling, site cover and deep dives- Lead and support site-based projects including process improvements, equipment validation, and packaging trials.- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure food safety and quality are embedded in all site activities.- Drive continuous improvement initiatives as well as standardization across the sites. Technical Innovation - Customer Satisfaction needs to be at the heart of all our focus- Support new product development and packaging innovation from a technical perspective.- Collaborate with commercial and NPD teams to ensure feasibility and compliance with new launches at a group level- Evaluate and implement new technologies or processes that enhance product quality or sustainability. Auditing and Compliance - From Farm to Fork – ensuring Legal, customer and ABP compliance is followed in everything we do- Keep abreast of legislative and industry changes that may affect the Retail division- Lead internal audits and assist with the preparation for third-party, customer, and regulatory audits (e.g., BRCGS, retailer standards).- Maintain and improve the Groups’ food safety and quality management systems working towards Group Stanardisation.- Ensure compliance with all relevant food legislation, labeling laws, and customer codes of practice.- Support supplier approval and raw material risk assessments were appropriate. Central technical Support – Working with the wider ABP Team - Contribute to group-level technical strategy and policy development.- Share best practices across sites and support group-wide technical initiatives driving consistency and ‘Group’ approach where feasible- Provide technical input for cross-functional projects and customer presentations. Knowledge and Qualifications- Third Level Food Science qualification (or equivalent with industry experience)- Lead Auditor- HACCP Level 4- Food Hygiene Level 4- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical or compliance role within food manufacturing or packing.- Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, and UK/EU food legislation.Experience with major UK retailers’ technical standards (e.g., Tesco, M&S, Aldi) is highly desirable. Essential Skills- Strong leadership and communication skills.- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems.- People Management Skills- Red Meat industry knowledge and experience- Continuous-Improvement focus
