Substation Maintenance Electrician

Due to continued growth and exciting development plans in our HV Substation Maintenance team, we have a number of exciting opportunities for candidates to join the team, working on the ESB HV S/S Asset Replacement & Maintenance Framework, predominately in the South Leinster & Munster areas.The right candidates will be passionate about safety and will promote this throughout the team, comfortably challenging any unsafe behaviours or attitudes. They should have good communication skills, with the ability to receive & understand technical guidance and advice from more experienced colleagues within the team. They should also be able to work collaboratively with the team, the wider Suir Engineering community, and all Suir Engineering Subcontractors. A level of technical knowledge & experience of working on high voltage electrical systems, equipment, and control wiring, within a high voltage substation environment, would be helpful. What will you be doing?     Be part of a team of high voltage substation maintenance technicians.     Be open to guidance, training, and mentorship to develop a level of technical competency within the team.     Be part of a safety-conscious culture and contribute positively to this to ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations.     Carry out & assist with routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems and equipment.     Carry out & assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control wiring and associated components.    Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in high voltage systems, ensuring timely and effective resolution.     Potentially be a candidate for future development into the role of PICW (Person In Charge of Works).     Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.Is this the job for me? Experience of working within high voltage substation environment an advantage but not essential, training will be provided.      A knowledge of high voltage electrical systems, equipment, and control wiring.      Skilled in using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.      Ability to understand technical information.      Self-motivated and contribute effectively to a team.      Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.      Familiarity with safety regulations governing high voltage systems.
