This role involves full lifecycle management of spare parts — from demand forecasting and procurement through to inventory optimisation and aged stock disposition. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detaildriven, and collaborates effectively across departments including Service, Engineering, Sales, and Product Development.Key ResponsibilitiesDemand Forecasting & PlanningDevelop accurate demand forecasts for spare parts using historical data, installed base information, and usage trends.Incorporate insights from Sales, Service, and Engineering to enhance forecast accuracy.Monitor product lifecycle stages to adjust forecasting accordingly.Liaise with product development teams on new product introductions and part obsolescence.Spares Ordering & ProcurementGenerate purchase orders based on demand forecasts, safety stock, and lead times.Manage supplier communications for order placement, delivery timelines, and issue resolution.Expedite urgent orders and minimize backorders to avoid service disruption.Inventory Management & OptimisationMaintain accurate inventory records using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).Track stock levels, address potential stockouts or overstocking, and optimise inventory turns.Oversee cycle counting, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution.Manage master data for all spare parts including descriptions and reorder settings.Aged Stock & Obsolescence ManagementIdentify and analyse slowmoving or obsolete inventory.Conduct root cause analysis on aged stock accumulation and propose preventative actions.Evaluate financial impact and coordinate stock disposition (returns, scrap, transfer).Collaborate with suppliers on writeoffs and inventory valuation.Returned and Damaged Spares ManagementDevelop efficient processes for managing returned and damaged spare parts.Inspect and classify returns for restocking or scrapping.Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with warranty and return policies.Coordinate with suppliers for returns and investigations into defective items.Report on return trends and collaborate with teams to drive quality improvements.Reporting & AnalysisProduce regular reports on inventory KPIs: forecast accuracy, stock levels, inventory turns, aged stock value, PAL, and fulfilment rates.Deliver insights and datadriven recommendations to management for continuous improvement.Leverage analytics tools to identify costsaving and process improvement opportunities.CrossFunctional CollaborationCoordinate with Warehouse Operations for seamless inventory handling.Partner with Service Operations to align spare part availability with current and future demand.Candidate ProfileSkills: Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills.Tools: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).Experience: Previous experience in inventory, supply chain, or spares coordination preferred.Attributes: Detailoriented, proactive, and collaborative.
