What sets us apart is the rapport we build with our clients and the care we take to gain a fundamental understanding of our clients business and how they operate.Background to the RoleIn response to industry needs for Advanced Therapeutics/Novel Therapies expertise to support facility design, process scale up and project implementation, we are expanding our team.We have an opportunity for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cell and Gene Therapy to join our Organisation and support European activities.As a key influencer, the SME will support DPS’ capabilities and market reputation in the novel therapies sectors and will take a lead role across phases of the design lifecycle; supporting our clients in making critical process decisions and providing input to facility design and layout development.The Subject Matter Expert in Cell and Gene Therapy is a critical role for DPS as it continues to expand its business in the cell and gene therapy area and build on the current company expertise. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director of European Projects and will interface closely with the Operations Directors in each European locationThe responsibilities and expectations for the role are outlined as follows;Being the ‘go to’ expert for cell and gene therapy best in class engineering solutions and manufacturing strategies.Representing DPS on industry peer organisations Special Interest Groups (SIG’s).Support clients in the scale up and commercialisation of gene and cell therapy products.Presenting at industry conferences and publishing papers in business enhancing industry journals.Provide input to DPS project proposals (bidding projects).Represent DPS as part of novel therapy facility proposal presentation team.Leading early phase process designs on cell and gene therapy projects.Support the design execution teams for Novel Therapeutics projects.Leading client workshops.Conduct peer reviews of facility process designs (internal and external).Assist with the development of internal design guidelines and training material related to Cell and Gene Therapy (Viral Vector) .Understand current state of the industry, current and future trends insight into equipment and automation solutions.Ideal CandidateThe candidate will be considered a subject matter expert in their area of expertise. This individual must be able to influence others in a collaborative manner to achieve the required outcomes.The ideal candidate will be smart, well-rounded, energetic, and charismatic. Competencies necessary for success are strategic agility, managing change, inspiring and influencing, achieving results, and technical and business acumen.8+ years’ experience in biopharmaceutical development, technology, engineering or CMC with a substantial portion of that in the cell and gene therapy environment.A higher technical degree, major in Industrial, Process or Chemical Engineering, or a relevant scientific discipline.At minimum of 8 years’ experience in the Biotech industry sector - with a minimum of 3 years working specifically in the area of Cell Therapy or Gene Therapy (Viral Vector).Competent in the design of single-use technology systems.Design and/or operational experience of Cell and Gene Therapy/Viral Vector facilitiesThis role may be based in Ireland, Belgium Netherlands, Switzerland (Remote)
