Applications are invited for the position of Senior Radiographer at the Galway Clinic.The role: To undertake Radiographic and Imaging Examinations as required.To maintain a high standard of Radiography.To take part in on-call service as required.To ensure that the three principles of radiation protection (justification, optimisation and dose constraints/limits are adhered to.To take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures.To report any defects or problems either directly to Radiology Manager or Clinical Specialist in area where working.To keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and Imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required. To actively participate in Continuing Professional Development.To participate and support research projects and undertake training of more junior or less experienced staff.To report all defects and occurrences which might affect safety.To carry out all other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager, Clinical Specialist in area where working. The Candidate: Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or have a Bachelor of Science or its equivalent (Diagnostic Radiography).CORU registrationMinimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a broad range of examinationsDemonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers.Have proven ability to work under pressure.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Evidence of continuing professional development.Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required.
