We have grown our business on a foundation of expertise, teamwork, and excellent customer service.Due to new partnerships, exciting opportunities have arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for upcoming work in Carmarthenshire, Wales.As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be an essential member of our commercial team and will Jointly be responsible with the contracts manager for the financial, commercial and contractual management of projects from post tender hand over through to final account close out of the project. Working closely with the build teams ensuring that subcontract procurement is carried out in both a timely and cost-effective manner. Adopting Glenevin ‘Right First Time’ ethos, the role will involve supporting and mentoring the current commercial team, minimising any project risks whilst enhancing viability and exceeding our contractual obligations to our clients. Working closely alongside Commercial Director and wider operational team to effectively manage workload across the team and deliver projects within their desired timescales and budget.You must be a resident in the UK at the time of this advertisement and hold necessary paperwork to prove this.Job DescriptionAs Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to:• Ensure cost control procedures are maintained in line with Glenevin standards• Work alongside the Commercial Director mentoring and coaching the wider Commercial Team.• Have sound knowledge of utilities practices, materials, and new methods of construction• Contribute to the development of the commercial strategy of the business• Manage contractual matters relating to projects• Continually analyse commercial opportunities within projects ensuring budget control is maintained during the project lifecycle• Prepare fortnightly valuations and final accounts• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all stages of the project to ensure all cost expectations are met and our right first-time approach is adhered to.• Review data analysis of projects identifying learnings and opportunities moving forward• Preparing, submitting and negotiating interim and final accounts including cash collection to maximise cashflow• Assist in preparation of internal monthly accounts including comparisons to budgets/forecasts• Client liaison attendance at meetings• Commercial and operational support to ensure contractual notices are complied with• Close working relationship with operations to ensure early identification and resolution of commercial/performance issues• Dispute resolution including identification and preparation of variations and claims• Assist in monitoring and maintenance of programmes with operations• Procurement, payment and management of subcontractors through developing and evolving supply chain - Managing the subcontract procurement process, scope analysis against client specification, tender reconciliation, sub-contractor comparisons, formation or order, review of commercial terms, and contract award • · Review of sub-contractor applications for payment with issue of any appropriate payment, pay less notices and certificates• Review and action of any contractual correspondence• Understanding of standard forms of construction contracts• Maintaining accurate and up to date Forecast Final Accounts for presentation to clients on a weekly basis. • Preparing claims for compensation events to contract and negotiating with the client and supply chain to deliver profitable change. • Manage Risk and Opportunity and present at the CVR  • Present regular financial feed back to the Delivery Director on the basis of known costs. • To work in a safe and sensible manner within the boundaries of the Company Health and Safety Policy and any additional site restrictions. • Assist the Commercial Director with other operational tasks where required Preparing cost/value flow forecasts for projects in liaison with operations including assessment of risks and opportunities• Conform with all company policies.  Experience and Requirements• Ability to contribute and make astute commercial decisions• Excellent communication skills with client facing experience• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to gain the desired outcomes for the business• Effective problem-solving ability• Exceptional attention to detail• Ability to work within a changing environment and prioritise workload effectively• Driven individual with exceptional interpersonal skillsEssential:• 6+ years’ Quantity Surveyor experience• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalentDesirable:• Construction/utility background
