KildareSalary Scale: Senior Psychologist, Clinical €98,503 to €115,784 DOE The Young Adults team is an inter-disciplinary team that provides clinical supports to young adults who attend New Directions HSE funded disability day services. The teams current base is in Johnstown Village, Co. Kildare with the opportunity for remote working one day a week. The role offers an opportunity for working across a variety of services and organisations within the catchment area of Dublin, South Kildare and West Wicklow supporting individuals in their day service, home or in the community.  The Senior Psychologist will join an established interdisciplinary team, supporting young adults with complex disability needs aged between 18 – 26 years. The Senior Psychologist will provide a range of psychological services including assessment, diagnostics, formulation and intervention, training for frontline staff and consultations with staff teams Responsibilities:Delivery of professional psychology services post in line with best practiceCarry a clinical caseload appropriate to the postProvide psychological services including psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and management in home, community and clinic settingsContribute a psychological perspective to case planning and multi-agency case working and review and call multi-professional meetings when appropriateConsult in family meetings and case reviewsRepresent and advocate for the psychological needs of service usersWork within limits of professional competence in line with principles of best practice, professional conduct and clinical governanceDevelop and collate professional reports as required in accordance with high professional standards. Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team structureEnsure coordinated interdisciplinary and inter-agency service deliveryProvide advice and consultation to staff working with the client group across a range of agencies and settings Develop and deliver training for frontline staff as part of our model of service deliveryDevelop standing operating procedures and clinical pathwaysProvide clinical supervision as requiredTo ensure effective maintenance of client records in line with legislation and policy guidelinesTimely updating of statistical records, including use of KARE’s electronic databaseRequirements:Have a university degree of diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honour obtained in that subject AND have an Irish post graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology OR An Equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. Applicants must demonstrate competence in the care groups applied forApplicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the postgraduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post qualification experience as a professional psychologist.
