Senior Protection and Control Engineer

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Protection and Control Engineer to join our technical office to support the engineering, design and commissioning of high voltage substations in corporate with other different HV experts. We wish for all employees to realise their full potential and have the opportunity to grow and develop during their career with Suir. We are also working continuously to promote a culture of positive wellbeing through our wellbeing programmes and supports to employees and their families through our Employee Assistance Programme and the Lighthouse Club.    What you will be doing?Assist in the development, configuration, and testing of protection relay for high voltage substations (MV to 400kV).Perform grid fault analysis, including short circuit, load flow, and relay coordination analysis using tools like ETAP or DIgSILENT.Support the design and implementation of IEC 61850, including GOOSE messaging, client/server communication, and digital signal mapping.Participate in the testing and commissioning of protection schemes using equipment such as Omicron or Megger.Prepare and maintain technical documentation: relay settings files, test reports, fault analysis, and communication SLDs.Collaborate with other engineers, commissioning teams, and design team to meet design and project execution requirements.Assist with the integration of protection systems into SCADA, RTU,Support the rollout of standardized procedures for protection settings, testing, and fault reporting.Testing HV apparatus E.g.
