This role involves managing a team of IT professionals, collaborating with various departments, managing vendors and implementing advanced technologies to support the company's strategic goals.Role AccountabilitiesStakeholder Management:Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations on IT operations and strategy.Champion the adoption of innovative technologies and digital capabilities to meet current and future business needs.IT Infrastructure Management:Oversee the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.Implement and manage on-premises, cloud-based and SAAS solutions to enhance scalability and flexibility.Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems through the implementation of best practices and compliance with industry standards.Application and Database Support:Manage the support and maintenance of business applications and integrated systems.Perform database administration tasks, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.Collaborate with business functions to identify and implement application enhancements and updates.Manage the Operation and Development of a Helpdesk for 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support for issues management and service requestsBusiness Intelligence and Management ReportingDevelop and manage key company performance reports using advanced data cleansing and visualisation techniquesChampion new technologies (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)Key CompetenciesUser Focus: Always put yourself in the shoes of the end-user and be adept in simplifying and describing complex situations with patience and empathyICT Management & Processes: Demonstrate expertise in IT management, processes, policies, procedures and documentation.IT Infrastructure & Application Implementation: Apply advanced knowledge of IT best practices to develop and implement integrated IT solutions including backup and disaster recovery managementCloud Technologies: Proficient in managing and deploying advanced cloud-based solutions (e.g. Azure, AWS, containerisation).Cybersecurity: Implement and manage security measures to protect IT systems from threats and vulnerabilities.Customer Orientation: Focus on understanding and meeting customer needs, providing value-adding advice and solutions.Risk Management: Evaluate existing and potential IT risks. Design controls and design mitigation strategies.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:A minimum of a level 8 degree (or equivalent) in IT, computing, or engineering.Extensive experience in IT infrastructure management, cloud solutions, cybersecurity and ITIL frameworks and ISO certification.Strong vendor management skills and experience in negotiation, procurement, and administration of SLAs (Service Level Agreements)Demonstrable experience of database technologies (e.g. SQL, No SQL, Oracle or equivalent).Demonstrable experience of virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, Hypervisor, Nutanix or equivalent)Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem resolution skills.Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver and write technical content clearly and concisely.Demonstrable experience of 24 x 7 x 365 real-time solution supportDemonstrable experience of managing a 1st, 2nd & 3rd line Helpdesk / ServiceDesk including issue, incident and service request managementDemonstrable experience in advanced cybersecurity environments (SOC, firewalls, Network Segmentation & Segregation, Zero Trust)Experience in Windows AD (Active Directory), Microsoft Entra, Microsoft 355 Tenancy Administration (including Hybrid Exchange)Desirable:Experience with data analysis and modelling (e.g. SQL Query, Power Query, Power BI or equivalent)Understanding of storage configuration, including SANs.Advanced understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (i.e. NIS2, DORA or equivalent)Experience of OT (Operational Technology), machine networks and sensor monitoringExperience in the Logistics or Marine Transportation industries
