We have maintained this purpose by attracting the very best talent to meet the evolving needs of our Members and customers.About the Role:The Senior Commercial Underwriter will be responsible for the underwriting account management of Property, Liability and Commercial Combined products, and other lines as nominated by the Commercial Underwriting Manager, through our broker and direct client’s channels. To be successful in the role you will be accountable for:Management of Commercial portfolio both direct and broker accountsAnalysis of the portfolio performance of policies for both direct and broker clients including pricing analysis and cover considerationsEnsuring the company meets all file documentation standards, complies with underwriting and authority level standards, and passes all audits (both internal and external)Providing informal and formal underwriting training as required and mentor less experienced underwriting team members on market conditions, competitors and relationship managementAssisting in the day to day management of the Property, Liability and Commercial Combined portfolios both direct and broker accounts, including mid-term adjustments and account managementUnderwriting and negotiating Property, Liability and Commercial Combined portfolio products for both direct and broker clients, to include risk evaluation, pricing and cover considerations in conjunction with IPB’s risk appetite and underwriting protocolDeveloping and maintaining relationships with our direct and broker clients in support of business retention and acquisitionResponsible for arranging Insurance surveys in accordance with underwriting proceduresEnsuring quality of file management maintaining Underwriting records in accordance with regulatory/statutory and internal requirementsAssisting in the day-to-day maintenance and placement of reinsurance within areas of responsibilityWhat we're looking for:IPB values both your skills and experience.
