Vigilant Security are seeking a professional Control Room Operator to join our team within a prestigious Sports Facility site in Edinburgh.The successful candidate (SIA/ CCTV licensed) will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations within the Control room, security requirements, and maintain high standards of professionalism at all times.This is a full-time role, on a four on four off basis, hours of attendance 19:00 hours to 07:00 hours, with scope of additional hours.We offer a competitive rate of pay of £12.00 per hour and you will be entitled up to 28 days holiday per annum, including bank holidays.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and adhere to the strategic direction of the clientTo monitor the CCTV, fire, and security systems, ensuring that all security processes are adhered to including Key Management and associated reports.Ensuring CCTV systems are utilised, the code of practice and processes are observed and the Data Protection Act 2018 is followed to ensure electronic patrols are effective and system use is optimisedAbility to work using your own initiativeReporting and associated paperwork & documentation including detailed handovers.Promote appropriate communication and harmonious working amongst the teamEnsuring that the Quarter remains safe and secure at all timesEnsure that all incidents are reported and responded to correctly and incident reports completed where required.Ensure daily tasks are completed and recordedSupport the continual development of working practises and maintain an excellent knowledge of all sitesProvide a consistent professional service at all timesEnsure no unauthorised persons allowed within prohibited areas including Control RoomEnsure radios are fully charged and booked out correctlyProficient use of relevant communications equipment will require candidate to have good communication skillsEnsuring all H&S policies are adhered toPerson SpecificationProfessional, highly driven, flexible, enthusiastic, proactive, self- motivated team playerMaintain competence with security systemsExperience in technical systems and excellent verbal communication skillsPrevious experience in operating CCTV systems and radio systemsAbility to remain calm and confident under pressure and work within strict time limitsHave an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports.Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availabilityExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levelsImmaculate presentationMaintain and practice a high degree of confidentiality at all timesAble to be vetted back 5 years or since leaving compulsory educationProvide support to the wider team when requiredCCTV licenceSIA licence Training and DevelopmentVigilant Security is committed to the principles of Investors in People as a means of ensuring the continued efficiency of the service it provides.
