Knowledge of SIMATIC SCADA Systems (WinCC, WinCC OA) is a prerequisite for this role.If you’re interested in an exciting new career in Power Plant Engineering and Renewables, we want to hear from you!Primary Responsibilities/ DutiesDesign, configuration, and test/commissioning of WinCC OA SCADA applications in Power Generation and Energy Systems projectsDevelop system architectures for large, distributed and redundant WinCC OA systemsPrepare FDS/HDS/SDS documentation based on NeoDyne standards and customer-specific requirements.Setup of MS Windows OS based WinCC OA server/client stations including installation of software, security configuration, system hardening etc.Setup of redundancy concepts on both hardware and software, including WinCC OA redundant/distributed systems, redundant data storage, RAID configuration, virtualised environments etc.Creation, management and validation of object-oriented blocks and templates In cooperation with PLC/Protection engineers for standardised UDTs etc.Viewing and understanding PLC code and project Control Narratives in order to interface data appropriately to SCADA (typically from Siemens TIA)Import/export of data points using the ASCII ManagerDeveloping SCADA screens based on project Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), vendor/package HMIs and other project documentation/drawings.Creating report templates incl. interfacing to SQL database for historical dataPreparing test documentation (FAT/SAT) for each stage of testing.Testing all functions of the SCADA system including data exchanges with third party interfaces / control centres, reporting and archivingComplete testing of the control system including pre-FAT testing, FAT testing in the presence of the customer, site testing and commissioning of the control system, and handover testing.Work with others on project teams to deliver complete functioning Plant Control SystemsDiagnose/troubleshoot existing systems remotely and on-site as requiredQualifications, Skills/ ExperienceExperience of configuring and testing Siemens WinCC OA applications is essentialLevel 8 Degree in Automation, IT, Engineering, or equivalentAt least 3 years’ experience in WinCC OA programming and configurationFamiliarity with engineering drawings such as SLDs and P&IDs, and converting to SCADA applications.Working knowledge of communication protocols commonly used in SCADA/control engineering, particularly Siemens S7/S7+, IEC 61850 MMS, Modbus TCP , OPC UA, IEC104, DNP3, and BACNET.Working knowledge of high availability/redundant network architectures utilising concepts like PRP/HSR, MRP, RSTP etc.CharacteristicsWorks well as part of a team.Excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills.Capable of self-learning and completion of individual tasks.Adaptable and able to prioritise and coordinate work.Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines.BenefitsCompetitive starting salary with year-on-year bonuses and salary increasesPaid OvertimeHealth InsurancePension with employer contributionIncome ProtectionLife AssuranceRemote Working/ Flexi-time/ Compressed Working WeekPersonalised Career Development PlanRegular performance and remuneration reviewsCycle to work schemeDon’t miss this opportunity to join a company at the forefront of electrical engineering projects in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
