St John of God Liffey Services invites applications for the position of Relief Health Care Assistants based in Dublin South-West and Kildare areas to provide support to individuals with an intellectual disability within our Residential and Community Residential Services. Relief Health Care Assistants - Residential Services (Ref: DUBRES HCA Relief) Suitable candidates must have:Successfully completed a relevant QQI certificate (formerly FETAC) at level 5 (All 8 modules) Minimum one year’s full time paid experience working with people with intellectual disability or other care services highly desirable.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal essential.A commitment to work with all residents who have varying support needs and complex needs to ensure they have full and meaningful lives.An ability to be flexible and professional in all aspects of work.An understanding of the values and ethos of the organization and a commitment to implementing these.Demonstrate an ability to support residents in all aspects of their lives, promoting their independence and personal development.Demonstrate a commitment to promoting the rights of people with disabilities.Deliver safe and respectful person-centered care and support to all residents.Full clean manual driving license and willingness to drive as part of role is essential.Willing to work all types of shifts (i.e. Long Day, Short day, sleepovers, Split shifts, night shift) and patterns of work (weekdays, holiday periods and weekends) to suit the needs of the residents.
