Aiséirí is an addiction treatment service for adults, young people and their families. Aiséirí, Aislinn is a residential addiction treatment centre for young people. Our services include a residential detoxification programme and support for families. We are now recruiting a Recovery Support Addiction Counsellor for our young persons centre in Ballyragget, Kilkenny, to work with our Aftercare services. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate who is passionate about helping young people to create a network of support aligned with the Recovery Capital Model. The ideal candidate will be committed to the 12 step model of addiction recovery and share the values and ethos of Aiséirí. Role: Addiction counsellor for Aislinn, Aiseiri, Cahir, Co. Tipperary.Location: Kilkenny, with occasional travel to other Centres.Job Type: Full-time KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. To participate in all aspects of the Recovery Support programme ensuring ethical and professional standards of care and good practice are delivered in a safe environment in line with ACI/IACP standards.2. To conduct individual and group Recovery Support sessions within the guidelines of the programme.3. To carry a case load of clients and manage their Recovery Support from the commencement of their treatment through to the completion of their Recovery Support programme. 4. To develop referral pathways with external agencies in the service of the client.5. To participate in your specific role so as to contribute effectively to our multi-disciplinary team approach.6. To participate in the smooth running of the Recovery Support programme ensuring a client focused programme with up to date lectures that are research based and in line with best practice.7. To participate in on-going training that the organisation provides.8. To ensure documentation is recorded in in a concise manner and in line with accreditation CHKS standards.9. Be an active member of the multi-disciplinary Recovery Support Team. 10. Exhibit a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with clients, families and other personnel.11. Collect statistics as required for relevant reports and documentation correct. Person Specification: Qualifications1. Third level qualification in the addiction counselling or related field is preferable.2. Possession of a recognised counselling qualification with accreditation to ACI3. Excellent communication skills.4. Good planning – organisational and innovation skills.5. Knowledge of the model of Brief Therapy, CBT, MI, CRA, CRAFT, Family Dynamics and additional training in related areas of counselling is desirable. Experience:1. Relevant experience in the addiction field.2. Practical work experience in the 12 step programme.3. Experience of working with young people in the addiction and mental health field. Knowledge:Familiar with various models of addiction as well as best practice in rehabilitation, recovery capital aftercare and recovery.Knowledge of best practice in working in the field of addiction and rehabilitation.Knowledge of agencies who work in the field of addiction.
