Also responsible for ensuring appropriate documentation and inventory transactions is retained and that data entry is conducted in a timely and accurate manner. Members of the Operations department are responsible for a wide variety of distribution center duties. It includes receiving, product movement, processing, disposal, and order picking as needed. As part of the Operations Team, all members are responsible for ensuring food safety, cleanliness, and workplace safety in compliance with Golden Harvest and Feeding America guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Receive all incoming product into the warehouse; review/confirm accuracy of shipping documents-Properly notate discrepancies on appropriate forms-Schedule truck deliveries of in-bound shipments-Unloading purchased & donated truckloads; unloading retail/local donor pickups and consolidating walk-in donations upon arrival -Notify appropriate manager(s) of any discrepancies between the purchase order and the received product-Stock all received product in appropriate rack locations including dry storage, freezers and coolers-Enter incoming product in the inventory system according to established procedures in an accurate and timely manner-Generate pallet tags and apply identification labels to all received product-Assist with month end and yearend inventory and reconciliation-Assist with maintenance of a clean, safe, and orderly distribution center (warehouse)-Provide excellent customer service to staff, volunteers, vendors, and guests-Assures the receiving count and product detail match purchase orders and/or pre-receipts for inventory control purposes-Assesses all incoming product (purchased or donated) condition prior to receipt and seeks management approval for load rejection, if needed-Assists VP of Operations to identify, develop, and implement receiving procedures-Ensures all assigned logs and paperwork is filled out accurately an routinely -Corresponds to all receiving related communications and requests-Ensures the receiving and loading dock area are appropriately clean and secured -Safely operates forklift, hand truck, manual/electric jack, pallet wrapping machine, compactors, and other tools/machines as appropriate -Fully understands how to operate and safely drive assigned vehicles -Maintains food safety standards, including temperature control -Keeps work area tidy and maintains cleanliness according to AIB procedures, Feeding America guidelines, and industry regulations-Works cooperatively with others including staff, supervisors, co-workers, and agencies -Maintains workplace safety in all aspects of the job, particularly warehouse equipment and assigned vehicles -Consistently represents the Food Bank in a professional manner, exhibiting excellent customer service -Attends all meetings, workshops, and/or trainings as directed Supervisory Responsibilities -No supervisory responsibilities -May have interaction or provide direction to volunteers at distribution sites Skills & Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual will demonstrate teamwork, commitment, written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
