Radiation Therapist – Permanent

The above basic grade position has become available within the Radiotherapy Department, Galway Clinic. This is a permanent full time post, 35 hours per week.The role:• Provision of an efficient and effective service to patients. This position will require staff to rotate through the various areas of the radiotherapy department incorporating Linear Accelerators, CT Simulation, Chart Preparation and Dosimetry. Staff Radiation Therapists should also be available for any on-call services as required.• Quality assurance and calibration on a daily basis as required. • Development and maintenance of the quality assurance program for the department.• Maintain accurate information systems for clinical data in accordance with department and hospital policies.• Maintain an up to date knowledge of clinical, technical and radiotherapy developments to promote awareness and ensure best practices are implemented and maintained.• Maintain accurate records of equipment service, maintenance, malfunction and down time.  • Ensure all radiation protection standards are adhered to.  The Candidate: • Bachelors Degree in Radiation Therapy or Recognized equivalent qualification • CORU registration• Previous experience in a similar role - essential• Have proven Clinical & Customer Care skills• Ability to work comfortably in multi-disciplinary teams, working closely with both clinical and administrative staff.• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.• Flexibility in work practices. Blackrock Health at The Galway Clinic is an equal opportunities employerClosing date for receipt of applications: Friday 25th July 2025 at 5pm
