Quantity Surveyor- Regeneration

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Nottingham based Regeneration team. We are a well-established and award-winning design, build and reactive maintenance company with offices in Doncaster, Nottingham and London working across the UK and internationally.​ We have been in business for over 30 years and have a reputation for quality, excellence and delivering projects on time and in budget.The Quantity Surveyor will work on major contracts which deliver works associated with social housing for a number of our clients. This role will support the wider Finance and Commercial teams, working to deliver the commercial duties required and to support the management of our supply chain. The Quantity Surveyor will ultimately be accountable for driving value and first-class service delivery for our clients, whilst ensuring full compliance with company policy and procedures.Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo be involved in negotiation of prices and obtaining quotes for works, materials and plant as required in compliance with company procedureTo quality check invoice details from all suppliers, ensuring the company gets value for money on all jobs carried out.To build strong relationships with our customers to ensure open communication and expectations of invoicing is met at all times.To negotiate and challenge contractors on cost queries.To prepare and agree priced schedules of work utilising existing schedules of rates.To notify, price and agree variations within required timescales.To carry out valuations and agree applications for payment as required, working on our clients specific portals.To prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports. To manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures. Includes obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, valuing subcontract works and payments and agreeing subcontract final accounts.To successfully manage multiple sites. Required Skills and ExperienceIdeally educated to Degree level or similar in a business or technical discipline.Previous experience of working within a social housing environment.Strong PC literacy.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills..Accountable for own performance and work well with a team.Effective problem-solving and decision-making.Highly flexible and strategic in approach to managing their work load.Full driving licencePackage and perksThis role will be primarily based at our office in Nottingham but will require regional travel to visit our sites to meet with clients and will offer some hybrid working for the successful candidate to manage their own diary. Our refurbished office offers excellent staff facilities, free tea, coffee and fruit etc. Our Concorde Culture programme also offers many great perks including fun social events, Westfield Health membership, birthday treats and Feast Friday lunches - pizza anyone? As a growing business we offer many opportunities for training, progression and development and work closely with our teams to help them achieve their goals.This position benefits from 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), with additional days awarded for long service up to 31 days and paid leave while the business is closed over the festive period – who doesn’t love a nice long Christmas break? This is a permanent contract working 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday which also benefits from a car allowance, bonus scheme, company laptop and phone.
