Job Titile: Quality & Compliance Officer (HIQA Regulated setting)Location: SOS Kilkenny Administration & Training Centre, Kells Road, KilkennyReporting To: Support Services ManagerContract/Hours: Permanent Part-time / 21 hours per week (3 days)Benefits:24 Days Annual LeaveSick Pay SchemeCompany Pension SchemeEmployee DiscountsEmployee Assistance ProgrammeMaternity LeaveStudy Assistance SchemeBike to work SchemeWellness ProgramSavings SchemeContinual Professional Development opportunitiesRequirements for the role:Degree in Social Care or working towardsMinimum three years’ experience working in the Disability sectorKnowledge and understanding of the Health Act, 2007 Regulations and any standards or government publications on the provision of services for day and residential services in the Disability sectorProven experience with HIQA AuditsRole:Work within a role which maintains people we support focus on the delivery of services.Understand the key tools, techniques, objectives and vision and guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, in line with legislative requirements and the organisation’s policies and procedures.Design and develop templates, databases, forms etc. as required, and the creation of statistics, charts, and analysing of information to support the work of quality.Work to meet objectives, organisational goals and complete assigned tasks with identified timeframes to a high standard.Complete audit activity and oversee the external quality and related reports to include progress with implementation of actions within timeframes and verification of action and close out.Support the drive of a continuous programme of quality improvement within the organisation, in line with regulatory, legislative and practice requirements.Facilitate training to ensure quality brief is being adhered to.Promote and participate in the implementation of change.Schedule audits, coordinate action plans and following through to completion:Provider AuditsPerson we support File AuditsIncident Audit of housesComplaint Audit of housesPerson we support and Family Satisfaction SurveyPerson we support Satisfaction SurveyHIQA AuditsSafeguardingAudit of HIQA Inspection reports to identify trends etc.Audits are carried on risk management, safeguarding etc.Medication AuditsProperty Health & Safety / Maintenance Audit of housesFire log AuditsHazard Identification AuditsAny other audits as they ariseHIQA Duties:Registration of Designated CentresEnsure all designated centres are supplied with the relevant folders & documentation in line with regulations and monitor changesRegistration of Persons in Charge and Persons involved in the management of the designated centres and coordinate changes when they occurManagement & oversight of the HIQA PortalRegistration of the Board of Directors Policy Management:Work in conjunction with the line Manager to ensure that all relevant compliance policies and procedures are in placeEnsuring policies are reviewed within timeframesUpdate and amend service provision policies when organisational procedures or legislation requiresDevelop and update policies in an accessible format for the people we support New DirectionsWork with Day Service managers to roll out and ensure compliance with new Directions regulations and any other regulatory Authority.QualificationsEssential:Relevant third level qualification or working towardsHigh proficiency in the use of MS Office suite ExperienceMinimum three years’ experience working in the disability sectorExperience of working within and implementing change programmesWorking collaboratively with multiple areas and tpublications on the provision of services for day and residential services in the Disability sectorKnowledge of quality management systems and proceduresHold a core belief and passion for the sustainable delivery of high quality people we support focused servicesFosters positive and effective working relationshipsDemonstrates ability to plan, organise and prioritiseAbility to source and interpret both theoretical and technical informationExcellent ability to analyse and interpret research dataAbility to study statistics and information and determine their meaningStrong research skills and the ability to think strategicallyExcellent communications skills, including strong report writing skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage changeFlexibility and ability to adapt to changeDelegation and Priority SkillsFlexibility:You are expected to have a high level of flexibility and a willingness and ability to develop new approaches to your work.
