It encourages and supports civic society and community organisations to further strengthen existing partnerships and/or to develop new cross-border links, to build connectivity on issues of concern for the island of Ireland. ContextVision Sports Ireland and RNIB have partnered to conduct a feasibility study to determine how best to ensure the inclusion of blind and vision impaired children and adults in accessing sports and wellness opportunities and activities of their choice in Northern Ireland.Recent Vision Sports Ireland research (2024) in the Republic of Ireland has found that:· 1 in 3 children with a vision impairment or blindness in the Republic were found to be at health risk· Whilst 79% of adults experiencing visual impairment or blindness in the Republic were not meeting the National Physical Activity exercise guidelines. Role OverviewGiven the trends in the Republic of Ireland, we are now seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and passionate Project Manager to engage with key stakeholders in the Northern Ireland and ascertain opportunities for a sporting chance for blind and vision impaired people. The successful candidate should have passion for inclusion and accessibility in sport, and a commitment to ensuring that people with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in sporting and physical activity. Core responsibilitiesVision Sports Ireland and the RNIB are now seeking a dynamic Project Manager who will:· Benchmark the current levels of access to sport and physical activity for children and adults experiencing visual impairment or blindness in Northern Ireland.· Host a series of regional workshops targeted at key stakeholders to understand the Northern Ireland landscape, perspective and ideas for improvement.· Investigate programme initiatives and models in both jurisdictions.· Develop a 3 year model to support incremental increases in the number of people with visual impairments or blindness accessing sport and physical activity of their choice.· Finalise a report for publication and market a cross border conference to be hosted by key collaborators. Essential Job CompetenciesProject Management Experience: Proven experience in managing projects, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting specified outcomes.
