The Opportunity - Production & Raw Materials PlannerWe are excited to be recruiting for a Production & Raw Materials Planner to join our busy Supply Chain - Planning team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire,The RoleTo identify and implement optimum plans and schedules that deliver stock and service targets. Procure materials to organise production in line with customer needs and the factory capabilitiesResponsibilities of the Production & Raw Materials Planner:Utilise available planning systems to convert sales forecasts into achievable production plans, schedules and material plans that optimally balance customer service and operational capabilitiesManage risks within the plan and amend schedules where possible /practical to achieve customer service and stock targets and escalate dropped productionShare forecasts with suppliers and work with them to resolve issues with materials availabilityMeasure, minimise and publish expected obsolete/over stocksManage ongoing communication with the operations teams to ensure accurate exchange of information. Including changes to production schedulesPropose and implement continuous improvements in own areaMonitor and manage plan attainment by work centre. Escalate with operations team to find route cause to relay to managementTranslate production plans into material requirements and convert them into supplier purchase ordersManage material stocks to ensure always above agreed min stock levels, escalating any instances where supply cannot maintain thisScope and define processes required for effectively working within the role, aligning processes with any relevant teams also involved, operations, finance, commercial. Review and challenge processes on-going to ensure maintain best possible outcome.Knowledge, skills and experience of the Production & Raw Materials Planner:  Understanding of production planning planning process FMCG knowledge/have experience of working in a fast paced environment  Worked with multiple a range of stock keeping units (SKU’s); both short and long lead time Attention to detail  Analytical thinking Internal stakeholder communication Computer literacy including experience of Microsoft office system Confident user to intermediate level of Microsoft excel Understand that there may be times you are required to be on call during weekends after training and on a rota basis.The Offer:Location: Thirsk, North YorkshireSalary: Competitive10% discretionary company bonus schemeHours: 40 hours per week - Monday to FridayPension: Employee contributions 3% / Employer contribution 8%·(salary sacrifice company pension scheme)Holidays: 25 days + Bank HolidaysPrivate Healthcare: Individual cover.
