Within our Power Generation & Utilities business, we deliver large-scale critical infrastructure projects that transform the reliability, availability, and efficiency of the energy network moving it towards a greener, more sustainable future. Projects include:High-Efficiency centralised power plants in hyperscale data centresLarge-scale flexible peaking plants providing grid support when renewables are not availableEmbedded renewablesNational Utility projects to meet ambitious sustainability targets.We are currently seeking experienced (3+ years) electrical engineers, ideally with a background in MV/LV plant engineering, substation design, distribution networks, switchgear and control and protection systems, to join our expanding teams in Ireland and the UK. Experience with Peaking, CCGT, CHP Plants or Embedded Renewables would be highly desirable but not essential as we will provide full training.If you’re interested in an exciting new career in Power Plant Engineering and Renewables, we want to hear from you!Primary Responsibilities/ DutiesDepending on role and experience:Designing, installation supervision, and commissioning of electrical, protection and control systems in various power plants from standby generation up to large scale CCGT plants.Producing requirements specifications for various electrical equipment and assemblies (switchboards, transformers, generators, motors, instrumentation etc.)Designing of industrial LV & MV networks, including SLDs, cable sizing and routing, protection coordination etc.)Electrical Protection System design, implementation, testing and support.Earthing DesignPlant Layout Design – General Arrangements.Preparation of coordinated drawings covering all aspects of installations, including mechanical, electrical and structural elements.Work with Mechanical/Process teams to produce P&IDs for Gas, Fuel Oil, Lube Oil, Steam, Water, Compressed Air and similar systems.Design of control and protection panels and creation of panel wiring schematicsCommissioning of control and protection systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioningGrid Code Compliance testing and reporting to Eirgrid.Supervision of junior engineers in producing design drawings and documentation.Qualifications, Skills/ ExperienceLevel 8 Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalentMinimum 3 years’ experience in a similar roleExperience with CAD packages for electrical schematics – AutoCAD, EPlan or similarExperience or familiarity with 3D BIM/Drawing packages such as Revit MEP, Plant 3D or similar would be advantageous but not essential.Design and commissioning of Industrial Plant MV substations and distribution networks.Network modelling, protection coordination, short circuit calculationsEarthing System designCharacteristicsWorks well as part of a team.Excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills.Capable of self-learning and completion of individual tasks.Adaptable and able to prioritise and coordinate work.Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines.BenefitsCompetitive starting salary with year-on-year bonuses and salary increasesPaid OvertimeHealth InsuranceIncome ProtectionLife AssurancePension with employer contributionRemote Working/ Flexi-time/ Compressed Working WeekPersonalised Career Development PlanDon’t miss this opportunity to join a company at the forefront of electrical engineering projects in Ireland, the UK and Europe.NeoDyne Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer, and all applications will be treated in strictest confidence.
