Pharmacystore is an Irish-owned community pharmacy group with 4 stores, over 55 employees and strong ambitions to continue to grow. A Pharmacist at Pharmacystore is a key member of the team and is a key person providing excellent customer and patient care aligned with the requirements of the PSI. Roles & responsibilities included in the role are outlined but not limited to below.Professional Practice:-Align to the appropriate controls outlined by the PSI governing the accessibility of prescription and non-prescription medicines.-Ensure strict adherence to all PSI and HSE standards and protocols.-Operate as per the Code of Conduct outlined by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) to ensure the highest standards of patient care - Code of Conduct-Take ownership for appropriate CPD aligned with PSI requirements.-Responsible for the ethical and legal decision making aligned with PSI requirements-Uphold the reputation of the profession whilst also upholding the reputation of PharmacyStore by ensuring compliant and professional practice.-Be aware of the scope of the pharmacist role and of all circumstances needing referral.-Provide input to policies and procedures ensuring documentation is up to date always aligned with compliance requirements.Supply of Medicines:-Ensure that the production, preparation and supply of all medicinal products is completed to the appropriate standards and compliant with PSI requirements.-Ensure accuracy in the dispensing process by monitoring, reviewing and taking appropriate action to minimize/eliminate errors.-Partner with the Duty Manager and Supervising Pharmacist giving input on product availability and effectiveness where possible.-Ensure any medicinal product held is maintained in a manner that is in accordance with its authorisation and with provisions to maintain quality of the product-Accurately use and maintain our computerised system for customer and inventory management.Patient Care:-Provide and support patient consulting and counselling as required ensuring the customer/patient health & wellbeing is always prioritised.-Communicate effectively with all parties e.g., team members, General Practitioners (GP’s), customers those who require complex drug therapy or have challenges in clearly articulating their needs.-Role modelling and fostering team behaviour that shows our customers that they are our highest priority.-Listen to our customers, understand what would improve our service and deal with any customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.-Build a strong working relationship with all team members in the pharmacy to ensure a seamless and consistent delivery of service to our customers.-Review and manage patients’ medicines, identifying and managing patient safety issues.-Provide education and information related to medication and its use.-Set the standards as outlined by the PSI.-Promote public health initiatives and associated benefits.Organisation & Training:-Actively support their own development and ensure they are qualified, trained, competent and fit to perform functions assigned to them.-Build competency and knowledge in any public health schemes and systems.-Actively support the development, training and education of other Pharmacists and Pharmacy TeamMembers building capability to enable the efficient and effective delivery of patient services managing time effectively to ensure upskilling other team members becomes a regular activity.-Provide input on Pharmacy Team Members and their performance to the Pharmacy Manager suggesting areas for development and training to meet the needs of the store and the business overall.-Understand who are the key stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels. Ensure communications are clear, understandable and frequent.-Take ownership for specific projects or initiatives as assigned.-Integrate as part of the team and is a true team player providing support where and as needed.-Foster and maintain a positive and mutually beneficial working relationship with our Pharmacy Technicians supervising and quality checking their work as necessary.-Integrate as part of the team and is a true team player providing support where and as needed.Business Acumen:-Deliver to the required Pharmacystore Group and Store Strategy through provision of expert guidance, advice and input to enable the business to grow and flourish. Suggest new and innovative ways of doing business that are compliant with PSI whilst differentiating Pharmacystore from its competitors.-Build and develop business acumen around the Pharmacy industry in Ireland understanding trends, direction and plans for the evolution of the industry and the potential impact to Pharmacystore.
