You will act as a key administrative link between patients, consultants, and clinical teams, supporting essential operational processes that help increase NHS capacity and improve patient experience.If you are organised, patient‑focused, and thrive in a fast‑paced healthcare environment, this role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to frontline service delivery and operational excellence.What You’ll Be Doing:Patient Booking & CommunicationActing as the first point of contact for patients regarding endoscopy appointment schedulingContacting eligible patients in line with Trust/Health Board policiesRecording all appointment outcomes accurately on Remedy and client systemsEnsuring patients understand procedure information, preparation steps, and medication requirementsEscalating any clinical queries or concerns to the nursing teamMaintaining accurate logs of incoming and outgoing patient communicationsClinical Preparation & Results ManagementReviewing patient results and flagging issues to consultants where appropriatePreparing patient notes, historic medical information, and endoscopy clinic listsEnsuring documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available — including for short‑notice clinicsOutcome Reporting & AuditAccurately recording clinical outcomes to support appropriate follow‑up and enable correct billingContributing to audit activities including reviewing historic outcomesSupporting stock management or consumables ordering as requiredService ImprovementParticipating in continuous improvement initiatives across MedinetIdentifying operational or process‑related improvements to enhance workflow and patient experienceWhat We’re Looking For:EssentialPrevious experience in patient appointment booking, ideally within the NHSStrong communication skills with the ability to support patients sensitively and professionallyExcellent organisational skills and strong attention to detailAbility to work under pressure and manage competing prioritiesConfident using patient administration systems, digital tools, and workflow technologyDesirableExperience working in endoscopy, theatres, or other clinical support environmentsFamiliarity with Remedy or similar patient booking softwareUnderstanding of clinical list preparation and handling of patient resultsRole DetailsLocation: TBC (Wolverhampton Trust) (On‑site)Hours: 9am–5pm, 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)Contract: Fixed term until December 2026 (with potential extension)Salary: £26,000 per annum (pro rata)Department: Patient AdministrationWhy Join Us?Collaborative Culture: Work closely with consultants, nurses, and operational teamsPurpose‑Driven Work: Contribute to reducing NHS waiting lists and improving patient flowProfessional Growth: Gain experience in patient pathways, booking systems, and clinical administrationBenefits:25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (pro rata)Company pensionBlue Light Discount CardSupportive, inclusive workplace environmentSafeguarding & Recruitment StatementSafeguarding is fundamental to the success in all that we do.
