Part-Time Financial Controller

Our client, a retail business headquartered in Dublin 12 is seeking a skilled and experienced Part-Time Financial Controller to serve as the Company Secretary and Group Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various financial, administrative, and strategic functions within the company. This position requires strong leadership, exceptional financial expertise, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.Responsibilities:Serve as the Company Secretary for all companies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Head the Health & Safety department, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and implementing necessary measures.Administer insurance policies, handle reporting, and manage claims.Oversee facilities management, including coordination with landlords, rent and rates payments, and property administration.Manage banking relationships and ensure effective cash and banking controls.Take charge of the HR function, including employee relations, labour relations, and policy and procedure implementation.Handle pension administration and maintain accurate records.Prepare and oversee the production of yearly, half-yearly, and monthly management accounts.Develop yearly budgets and forecasts to support financial planning.Conduct internal audits and implement necessary controls.Manage tax compliance across all company tax heads.Generate monthly payroll accurately and on time.Coordinate banking facilities and maintain banking relationships.Ensure compliance with corporate governance regulations.Facilitate the annual audit process.Provide general commercial advice, prepare accounts, and handle personal tax returns for MD’s  business investment and property development companies.Support Directors and Senior Management in various management-related issues.Represent the company in negotiations, including interactions with unions, LRC, and courts.Prepare management reports to assist decision-making.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a similar role.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.Excellent understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements.Demonstrated expertise in strategic financial planning and budgeting.Proficient in using financial software and MS Office suite.Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective leadership and people management skills.Working Hours: This is a part-time position, with approximately 20-25 hours per week. Specific working hours and days can be discussed and agreed upon based on mutual convenience.
