Professor Turlough O Donnell and Assoc. Professor Joseph M Queally.The Fellow is given graduated responsibility so that at the end of the year long programme, is competent to commence work as an independent specialist.Key duties:To act under the supervision of the Orthopaedic Consultants and support them in their duties.To cover Operating Room duties as assigned.When available to attend daily ward rounds with the Orthopaedic SHOs.Document review findings in clinical notes in a timely and legible manner.To liaise and support the Orthopaedic SHOs with regards to admissions, reviews and discharge of patients.To assist in the education of medical students, colleagues and staff.The Fellow will have access to the UCD Beacon Hospital Academy, UCD Library Services and Research Support.To act and behave professionally and perform one’s duties in a manner that optimises patient care and protects and enhances the reputation of Beacon Hospital. To adhere to Hospital Policies and Procedures e.g. JCI, Code Blue, infection control, work hours and overtime.To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring safe working practices in a safe working environment.To undertake any other duties that may be required, which could include assisting medical colleagues throughout the hospital and acting as a resource for more junior colleagues.Draft weekly schedule:Monday: Theatre and Ward Duties: Assoc.
