The Department includes teams in the areas of National Research, Innovation, Offshore Energy, Electricity and Wind, and International Energy Research coordination. The Department is composed of analytical and technical experts from engineering, science, or similar technical backgrounds, along with professional funded research experts, who are focused on developing solutions to the challenge of decarbonising Ireland’s energy system.  The Offshore Renewable Energy team provides evidence and advice upon which important energy policy decisions are based, informs, and supports energy research priorities, supports market development within the offshore renewable energy sector and contributes to wider public information on the sector and decarbonisation of our energy system. This position will play a key role in the Research, Innovation and Electricity Department.  The Offshore Renewable Energy team are an enthusiastic and innovative team, with wide ranging stakeholders across the system, who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI’s offshore energy areas. The successful candidate will report directly to the Programme Manager for Offshore Renewable Energy.   Essential RequirementsThe successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:A degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 7) or equivalent qualification in Engineering / Science / Economics / Business or equivalent. At least three years’ work experience in a related field.Successful track record and expertise in project management of multi-disciplinary projects.Excellent organisation skills together with the ability to prioritise work and manage a wide variety of tasks with a proven track record in meeting deadlines.Ability to exercise initiative and to be able to operate independently.Excellent team-player skills and flexibility. Desirable RequirementsExperience working directly with ocean energy and/or offshore wind developers an advantage.Experience in working in energy system / services.Experience in working in international research projects.Experience in the development of technology support programmes.Experience with procurement for offshore renewable energy activities.Eligibility to WorkThe SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland. To qualify, candidates must hold a valid visa on the date of application and where applicable to support a candidate’s application, candidates must submit a valid work permit/visa confirming permission to work in Ireland when requested.
