Job Title: Maintenance Engineer / Fabric Engineer / HandymanLocation: Wiltshire (Lyneham)Salary: Competitive + BenefitsJob Type: Fulltime permanentStart Date: ASAP upon successful completion of clearance documentationCompany DescriptionBJF Group is a leading multidiscipline Main Contractor based across the UK, specialising in delivering highquality construction projects across various sectors priding ourselves of our reputation for excellence and attention to detail.Within our Facilities Management division, the South West Projects team plays a crucial role in the daytoday delivery of reactive and preventative works across a diverse range of properties and systems within our client's sites.If you have ambitions of playing a key part in driving our business forwards, then we want you to join us at an exciting time of development and growth to realise your full potential.PositionFollowing an uplift in BJF's scope of works, our FM division are looking to appoint an experienced and professional Mobile Maintenance Engineer to work as part of the South West Projects and Small Works team, responding to reactive calls, carrying out first fix where possible and scoping quotes for repair where first fix is not possible to ensure minimum downtime across a range of properties and systems within MOD camps across Wiltshire.Reporting directly into Project Management , our engineering team carry out all planned building and fabrication maintenance tasks as per program, keeping accurate auditable records of works planned and completed whilst maintaining a proactive approach to health, safety and wellbeing in the work environment, taking necessary steps to ensure that risks are mitigated.Primary responsibilities of the role:2nd person on Fabrication workTake deliveries and check off items for the Projects teamComplete compound checks on multiple sitesEscorting contractorsMove materials to sites which are undergoing project worksActing as BanksmanKeeping the project storage area and compound clean and tidySupporting the Electrical projects team when needed with stripping down old light fittings, cable pulling, etc...General daytoday support of the wider Projects teamRequirementsTo be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate a mix of the following:MEWP and PASMA qualified preferableCity & Guilds or other accredited qualification in a relevant fieldCompetent to assess repairs required with ability to complete works with minimal guidanceExperience of basic building maintenance and repairs painting & decorating, tiling, plastering etc...Basic plumbing knowledge (clearing blocked drainage, compression fittings etc...)Experience of timber & UPVC door and window installation/repairsHealth, Safety and Quality Considerations:To act in the best interests of BJF when on site and dealing with ClientsTo always work in a safe manner and to a highstandard, in line with best working practicesUnderstand your responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of your team and the wider group, whilst promoting a positive health and safety culture throughoutPromote and live BJF TEAMS values
