This role will be preferably based at our Dublin, Ireland office and include travel to other global DPS and client locations. Other DPS EU Office locations are also a definite consideration. Core responsibilities will includeBe the ‘go-to’ expert for DPS on all matters relating to MES.MES design lead for projects in life sciences working on concepts, the basis of design, detailed design and site installation commissioning, qualification and validation.Gathers input and coordinates with the DPS project team, client team to develop requirements.Defines the overall strategy for the client-required MES solution including integration to other systems such as ERP, Detailed Scheduling, Automation, Data Historian, LIMS, Maintenance and Training.Develops bid packages, shortlists system integrators and leads the system integrator selection process.Manages the system integrator through design, build, test and deployment at the client site.Actively participates in the creation of project deliverables such as design documents, configuration build, installation and validation activities.Responsible to ensure technical delivery of MES systems to meet business objectives.  Responsible for regular communication to project leadership & multi-functional team stakeholders.Contributes to the development of the MES team resources for the project and other supporting vendors.Assures all design & project work is completed in compliance with all regulatory requirements including, Quality (cGLP/GMP’s), EHS, Client Standards, design & construction directives, requirements & procedures, as well as all Local/Federal Regulatory requirements.Supports the overall DPS project manager on schedule and budget development and control.Desirable experience and educationBachelors or master’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or Life Sciences.At least 8 years’ experience providing process control and information systems solutions and support to manufacturing organisations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.Experience directing system design, configuration and application of business processes in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.Experience during project delivery and operations support of highly integrated MES systems. Experience with Siemens Simatic MES is desirable.Experience with designing information interfaces, data conversion, and network and infrastructure fundamentals.Strong knowledge of databases, reporting and analytic systems.Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organising and planning skills.Strong leadership and communication skills. Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.Development and presentation of technical strategies to senior management.Ability to anticipate, evaluate and resolve multiple, simultaneous project issues, delays and problems by utilising technical, project management, and business expertise. Ability to translate strategic opportunities and emerging technology solutions into tangible pragmatic executable plans. Ability to work independently and remotely with minimum direct supervision.Strong Customer relationship management skills.Strong Critical thinking skills.Industrial technology collaboration and influencing skills.Ensuring compliance with practices, policies, procedures, legal requirements and goals of project sponsors and approved methodologies, develop supporting documentation and monitor budget tracking/ timeliness/ scheduled resources.Thorough knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry Regulations (cGMP/cGLP, OSHA, EPA/EQB) required.Commercially minded. ReportingReporting to DPS Dublin Automation Manager.
