As Secretary to the Heart and Vascular group your role will be to insure all clinics are run efficiently, this also involves maintaining accurate records/filing system in accordance with the standards of the hospital. Key Duties & Responsibilities, To ensure that all patients are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner.To ensure that all work is carried out accurately and efficiently.All work is completed in accordance with the standards established by the Hospital.To ensure that patient care and safety are always adhered to.Dictaphone typing of all medical reports.Maintain daily lists for clinics.Dealing with all queries in an efficient and professional manner,Responsible for accounts and handling of monies.Book all admissions and outpatient clinics for Cardiology patients referred.Ensure any documentation relating to the patient is available for admission/clinics.Ensure any known tests are pre-booked once an admission date is given.Book all day case cardiology procedures with Day Therapy and ensure that all day beds are booked.Ensure patients are given any pre-procedure instructions.Check patients’ insurance cover for all day case, in-patients, transfer, and outpatient clinics.Liaise with Cath Lab regarding urgent waiting list and attend daily admissions meeting to discuss waiting list and prioritisation of patients.Use MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Hospital Patient Administration Systems. (iSOFT / iMedCp)Complete project work assigned from time to time Qualifications, Essential Skills & KnowledgeGood Standard of education – Leaving cert or equivalent, or relevant work experience. Excellent knowledge, awareness, and experience of administration.Good PC skills and computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).Medical Terminology and Dictaphone typing are essentialPrevious experience in a similar role would be an advantage.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
