Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to focus your expertise on delivering a high-profile project with a dynamic and progressive engineering company?Rockwell is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, based one of our large projects in South County Dublin. This is a permanent position reporting directly to the Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all aspects of cost control, procurement, and commercial delivery throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesTake full responsibility for the commercial management, pricing, and budget control of a major mechanical project.Ensure all contractual obligations are met, providing guidance and oversight to the site and construction teams.Identify potential commercial risks early and report promptly to management.Prepare and review monthly progress and cost reports, including remeasurements, site variations, and claims.Manage all subcontractor accounts, from award through interim valuations and final accounts.Forecast and monitor cash flow and turnover specific to the project.Oversee and evaluate all commercial aspects of the project to ensure accurate and transparent reporting.Stay informed on industry developments, particularly within Mechanical and HVAC systems.Qualifications and ExperienceA relevant 3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying, or a QS with mechanical engineering qualifications/experience.Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience within the construction sector, with a strong focus on mechanical services.Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills, with a results-driven approach.Previous experience working with a Mechanical Contractor is highly desirable.Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), with the ability to produce detailed cost reports and financial projections.Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to professional development.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic project environment.Why Join Rockwell?At Rockwell, we offer a competitive salary reflective of your experience, and the opportunity to focus your skills on delivering a landmark project from start to finish.
