Our Client, Templemore Co-Operative Mart Ltd has an opening for an experienced Mart Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to Chair and Committee, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the Mart, leading and directing all employees, and overseeing the day-to-day management and development of the business.While promoting existing activities and further driving the Co-Op’s current market position as one of the leading livestock auctions in the country and expanding its online marketing of livestock. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the overall performance of the business, and deliver a financially sustainable return on investment. The successful candidate will continue to grow this well-established, successful and progressive mart based in Co. Tipperary. This role is a full-time permanent role based in Templemore and represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate to progress and develop in the Irish Livestock Auction landscape.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Maintain and optimise profitability contribution by leading and managing staff, managing relationships with all stakeholders, establishing and accomplishing business objectives as set out by the board of directors.Maintain and ensure a strong Health and Safety culture and continually review and update practices and procedures in line with health and safety legislation and company policies & procedures.Responsible for managing the operations of the Mart efficiently, effectively and to a high standard, and in compliance with relevant regulations.Ensure compliance with legislation and submission of Departmental and Revenue Returns in a timely manner.Ensure that all issues that arise between sellers and purchasers are resolved satisfactorily and in a timely manner.Reporting to the Management Committee of the Co-Op on a regular basis.Increase revenue for the business through the development and delivery of the long term strategic business plan.Focusing on Business Development by collaborating with buyers, sellers, government agencies, community organisations, and employees while enforcing ethical business practices.Drive business growth through effective marketing and ensuring strong competition for livestock and online promotion in line with Templemore Co-Operative Mart Ltd guidelines.Identifying efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives.Develop and drive budget process and compile reports on business performance.Maintain a clear understanding of the financial performance of the business and take actions where necessary to address any fluctuations from target.Management of all credit related issues and ensure highly efficient administration is maintained to avoid delay.Work closely with the different operational stakeholders on projects, business support and including in particular IT and Technology. Skills and Competencies:Candidates should be strategic thinkers with high attention to detail and possess strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and delegation skills, and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team.Innovative mind-set, and proven ability to work on own initiative.Flexible, adaptable and ability to work in every area of the Mart.Good IT skills including Word, Excel, knowledge of accounting and administration packages and packages used for online sales.Experience required:A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial position, preferably in a Mart or Co-operative environment.Knowledge and understanding of the livestock / agricultural industry:Livestock sales Livestock veterinary regulations/ Disease controlFinancial Planning and Strategy, Management AccountingSupervisory Management and Customers ServiceRelationship management at Operative Senior Staff & Board Room LevelEmerging trends in AgribusinessGood knowledge of People Management and Health and Safety Legislation.
