RESPONSIBLE FOR: Good Health & Safety Practices and Maintenance of the Hotel and all the other Hotel properties on the Estate PURPOSE: To ensure the Hotel and all of the other Hotel properties on the Estate are maintained in keeping with our hotel standards and our Health & Safety Practices with Weekend working includedRESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:• Plan and schedule repairs daily, weekly, and monthly. This includes working weekends as part of your 5 days out of 7 working week, supporting the Maintenance team to provide 7 day service for the Hotel & Estate.• Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, light electrical work, plumbing and any other repairs that are required in the hotel or assets.• Perform scheduled building inspections to ensure that equipment, and systems are in working order.• To ensure that hotel lounges, outlets, and bedrooms are maintained in full working order and are ready to receive guests on a daily basis.• Repair faulty equipment and damaged structures.• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures across the estate, staff accommodation and hotel.• Liaise with the facilities team to manage heating, plumbing, structural, cosmetic repairs to systems to guarantee functionality.• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.• Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.• Support the management of pest control services in the hotel.• To monitor the computerised building management system to ensure heating and plumbing is functioning.• To support the Maintenance Manager in security systems monitoring and maintenance.• To liaise with different departments to ensure tasks are communicated and actioned accordingly.• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.• To assist and support the estate team with any tasks required for the benefit of the operation and hotel.• To take ownership of any duties in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.• To deal with any challenging situations in a positive and proactive manner.REQUIRED SKILLS:• Flexibility to work weekends or evenings is essential to this role.• Leaving Certificate or trade qualification. • Electrical or Plumbing or Water treatment Experience is beneficial.• HVAC experience is an advantage.• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.• Previous experience in a hotel environment is an advantage.• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.• IT experience Microsoft Word • Effective problem-solving abilities.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Must be well- organized and can prioritize tasks.• Clean Drivers license• Manual HandlingSTATUTORY DUTIES:Comply with the Hotel regulations regarding:a) Fireb) Health and Safetyd) COSSHe) Customer Caref) Securityh) Serving of AlcoholHEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: •Report all accidents and hazards to management in an efficient and timely manner •Comply with all fire, health & safety regulations and attend necessary training for the safety and security of your colleagues and guests •To read, understand and carry out all responsibilities as defined in our Health & Safety Statement
