College Group was founded in 1989 and currently operates from three state-of-the-art sites; Nobber in County Meath, Monnery in County Cavan, and in Newry in County Down. We have just built a new state of the art AD plant in Nobber with the most advanced technology, which is one of Irelands largest Anaerobic Digestion plants.Anaerobic digestion (AD) is is a sustainable process with the microbial breakdown of organic material in the absence of oxygen to produce renewable energy in the form of biogas and organic fertiliser.We are currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Fitter to join our new AD Team in Nobber. This position will be an integral part of the team responsible for performing planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and automated systems, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and chute systems, to ensure operational efficiency and minimise downtime. Key Responsibilities:Maintenance & Repair: Conduct both planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, and processing machinery, to ensure maximum availability and operational efficiency. Troubleshooting & Fault Finding: Diagnose and address mechanical issues and failures to identify root causes, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime and restore equipment to service. Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement planned maintenance schedules and procedures to prevent breakdowns and ensure the ongoing health of plant equipment. Fabrication & Modification: Modify, fabricate, and install mechanical systems and components as needed for optimal plant performance. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, documenting all repairs and inspections. Quality Environmental Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to company policies, safe systems of work, and legislative requirements, taking personal responsibility for safety during all maintenance activities. Technical Support: Collaborate with external specialists, such as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), when necessary to determine failure causes and implement suitable solutions. On-call: Must be available for On call night/ weekend work if a breakdown occurs after a training period.Required Skills & Qualifications:Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. Hands-on Experience: Proven experience in fitting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and automated systems. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and find effective, efficient solutions. Teamwork & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within AD and maintenance team and with other departments. Detail-Oriented: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy in repairs and documentation. Safety Conscious: A proactive attitude towards health and safety, understanding and adhering to all site and legislative requirements. Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
