Maintenance Engineer

This isn’t just about fixing what’s broken — it’s about keeping things running, preventing downtime, and ensuring production never skips a beat.If you know CNC machines inside out and thrive on being the go-to for fault-finding and fix-it-fast solutions, this one’s for you.What you’ll be doing day-to-dayDiagnosing faults on CNC machinery (fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain control systems ideal)Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a variety of turning and milling centresResponding rapidly to breakdowns to keep production on trackReplacing mechanical components like spindles, bearings, actuators, etc.Handling minor electrical repairs – sensors, relays, safety circuitsSupporting installations and upgrades of production machineryKeeping accurate maintenance logs and tracking parts usageWorking with production to schedule maintenance around workloadsLiaising with OEMs when required, or escalating deeper technical issuesWhat you’ve likely done beforeWorked in a CNC machine shop or precision engineering environmentBeen the "go-to" person for machine downtimeRebuilt a machine bed or swapped a ballscrew in your timeDiagnosed a fault using schematics (and maybe your ear) before the diagnostics panel caught upBalanced time between firefighting and scheduled servicingManaged your own spares stock or had strong input into itPlayed a part in reducing unplanned downtime - and have the stats to show itWhat we’re looking forTime-served mechanical engineer or maintenance technicianStrong CNC fault-finding and repair skills (especially mechanical)Familiarity with Fanuc / Siemens / Heidenhain controlsConfident reading mechanical and basic electrical schematicsComfortable working independently and managing prioritiesSomeone who takes pride in keeping machines humming and the lights greenWhat’s in it for you?A stable role in a well-established siteThe freedom to make an impact (we’re big on ownership)Clean, tidy shopfloor environment with modern machineryStrong engineering support networkDay shift hours and a team that pulls togetherDon’t just fix machines — keep production flowing and quality high.If you’re a mechanical-minded problem solver who knows your way around CNC machines, we’d love to hear from you.
