Logistic Co-Ordinator

Purpose of the Role Day to Day management of Logistics covering Inbound and Outbound tasks, functions & operations to achieve our business goals and objectives on a continuous basis. Continuously seeking and implementing ways to improve. Teamwork and close collaboration across other department and Logistics Team. Takes part in the Inbound and outbound supply chain performance reviews and improvement. Drive plans for forecasted demand so we can deliver to our customers. Driving up and sustaining standards of work across the team. Managing key contract holders to deliver to an excellent standard of service. Knowledge of all regions customs rules/requirements as required.  Main Responsibilities OutboundTo assist and support the Day-to-Day essentials for the Transport Team relating to both the National and International Inbound Desk Operations.Organising driver and vehicle routes with focus on completing daily schedules and Driver Records Ensuring that vehicle maintenance is carried out as scheduled and in line with company guidelines keeping to statutory requirements.To ensure that all drivers and trucks and trailers are well presented and that drivers’ skills in relation to performance and customer care reflect the correct image of the company.Recording driver’s hours, haulier costs and extra costs incurred by the business each dayRecording all customers DOT and completion of the end of shift in a timely manner  InboundEU Freight procurement (Road & Sea)Effective planning & scheduling of Inbound logistics to meet business and customer needsFreight costs updated & completed on time (KBS) Customs Clearance Ireland & UKGlobal Imports (Air & Sea)Compliance adherence (Using approved haulier base/ensuring Customs entry accuracy)Special CircumstancesFlexibility is required to work shift work and to work outside of normal hours to suit the requirements of the Business. On call after hours to deal with any issue which may arise.Work 5 days over 7 days AM and PM shifts as well as day shifts required.OtherSupport to achieve efficiency targets for the logistics function.Demonstrate excellent communication with the logistics team and Act as the interface between the transport function and other functions as necessary to ensure a seamless provision of service.Creating, driving and meeting Logistics plans as needed to react to sales and forecasts.Drive a Continuous Improvement mentality – release value, improve service, reduce waste.Ensuring that current standards of health and safety are met and exceeded. Ensuring compliance is met and recorded sufficiently.To work in partnership with customers (both internal and external) to ensure an optimal service level at all times. Complete weekly figures and KPI as required by the business  Key Skills Essential:  Good IT skills - competent in the use of Advanced Microsoft Office Applications, Planner and Organiser, Able to work on own initiative, ‘Can do’ attitude, Resilience, Teamwork, Excellent command of English language (written and verbal), Good standard of numeracy, Excellent communication skills, Lateral thinker, can see the broader picture, Good attention to detail, methodical & thorough. Desirable: Capable of developing to the next level, Transport Experience would be beneficial but not essential, an interest in the Transport Industry is a must.  Education & Training Leaving Cert – English/Maths8 Step Problem SolvingHistory of Contract Management and planning.Customs Clearance experienceGlobal Freight Procurement (Air, Sea & Road)Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (not essential) This role is based in St Margarets and due to the location of the site you will need your own transport to get here.
