Line Leader

Purpose of the role:We are looking for a Line Leader to lead our colleagues on the production line. The purpose of the line leader role includes ensuring productivity targets are met and all information is correctly input into KBS. As a Line Leader you will be accountable for the quality of the product produced. Key accountabilities & responsibilities of the role: ·        Manage the Packhouse team efficiently and ensure optimum number of staff per line.·        Instruct team to the required packing and quality standards and perform random checks on each line.·        Follow the label sign out procedures and ensure correct labels are being used and perform random checks on each line.·        Ensure line is run productively.·        Ensure KBS production run information recorded correctly on KBS.·        Ensure each line is adhering to class 2/Rework procedure.·        Manage raw material effectively to prevent down time.·        Ensure the next product is ordered in advance of the line stopping.·        Ensure the packers are packing the correct quantity per carton per pallet.·        Ensure box end labels are applied as to the customer specification.·        Monitor staff productivity and report on Productivity boards.·        Report any variance from the standard that has been set to Team Leader.·        Ensure staff are adhering to company policies and procedures.·        Work with QC staff to maintain product quality and required specification.·        Ensure the line is kept organised and tidy at all times.·        Liaise with Team Leader and planning department on a daily basis to understand / discuss day to day operational priorities and any urgent issues that arise.·        Undertake on line training with staff - define expected standards.·        Ensure check weights are being carried out correctly and perform random checks on line.·        To ensure proper and effective use of machinery and equipment and that damage to Company’s assets are minimised and reported to the Site Engineer immediately. Key skills and knowledge required: (i.e., those required to fulfil the role, including qualifications): ·               Knowledge and experience of the industry with competent packing skills.·               Good communication skills.·               Physically fit.·               Ability to set up and run required machinery efficiently. Competencies/Behaviours: ·        Ensures all details are correct and accurately recorded.·        Corrects errors in own and others work.·        Questions the detail and does not take everything for granted. In addition, the post holder is required to understand and adhere to Keelings International Company Values, and reflect these values in both behaviour and performance.                              People Matter  - Teamwork – Integrity – Passion for Achievement
