Lead Asset Management Consultant

We are currently seeking to recruit a Lead Asset Management Consultant to join us here at Aqua Consultants. Our Asset Management Consultants are responsible for advisory services to our infrastructure clients in the UK and beyond. You will focus on areas such as (regulatory) business planning, asset strategy, service delivery, risk management, and asset management maturity (ISO55001). You will also provide support to the wider Aqua Consultants business in asset management best practice. You will report to the Associate Director Asset Management, as part of a growing team where you will have opportunities to develop and progress in the role.Location(s): We operate a hybrid working model, the role can be based at any of our offices (Leeds, Birmingham, Bradford, Exeter) combined with working from client locations and home. You may be required to travel to client offices 2-3 days a week.Sector: Predominantly working within the Water industry but may cover wider utilities and infrastructure.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldInstitute of Asset Management Diploma or Certificate (Desirable)Chartered in a relevant institution or working towards chartershipSkills and experience:This is a role which requires you to cover many different types of projects over time, adapting to client needs and sectors as required. Clients are at the heart of everything you do, and you’ll demonstrate the ability to constructively challenge the accepted norms and always seek a better way.10+ years of experience of infrastructure asset management in the water, gas, electricity or other industriesExperience of managing a team of individuals to achieve a set of objectivesExperience of working in one of the following areas: asset strategy, regulatory business planning, asset planningDetailed knowledge of a UK regulated utilities industryUnderstanding of the typical challenges and drivers for UK infrastructure clientsDemonstrable understanding of ISO55001 principles – we expect all Leads to pass a Diploma in Asset ManagementProactive at solving problems for our clientsAbility to produce high quality reports and presentations that meet deadlinesExperience of effectively presenting to a range of stakeholdersExperience of developing and maintaining client and stakeholder relationshipsUnderstanding of how what you do meets corporate objectivesAbility to apply asset management principles to a variety of industriesCORE RESPONSIBILITIES*Please note this is not an exhaustive list but gives a flavour of the work to be undertaken*This is a consultant role and it is likely the post holder will be seconded into one of Aqua’s clients on a part time or full time basis on an occasional or permanent basis.Key responsibilities include;Lead on project delivery with accountability for the project team and the outputsEnsure consistent quality from the team you line managerProvide leadership and guidance to the team – ensure that they are happy, growing and valued for what they doOwn and develop great relationships with senior client stakeholdersSupport Director and Associates on identifying opportunities and developing proposals for future commissionsLead on presentation of outputs to clientsDevelop case study write-ups to record the great work we doBuild justified and efficient (regulatory) business plansDevelop and implement asset management plans and strategiesProgress on the journey of asset management maturityImproving and making best use of asset data to deliver the right business solutionDevelop long-term adaptive strategiesBuild bespoke investment delivery processesOptimise existing decision making processesEnsure appropriate governances and assurances structures are in placeDelivering projects to excellent time and qualityKeen to build long-term relationships with clients at a senior levelConsistently identify areas where we can grow our support to clientsDriven to improve company performance and take on new challengesFocussed on the development of you and your teamWhy Aqua Consultants?We are a fast growing organisation with highly experienced staff at the heart of everything we do.
