We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the Engineering Partner of choice Suir Engineering. Suir Engineering has offices in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, UK and Germany. We deliver leading edge next generation solutions to clients by designing, building, and installing Data Centers, Pharma and Medical Device plants and Renewable Energy Systems.We have an exciting new position for a Junior EHS Advisor to work on a pharmaceutical project based in Kilkenny.Overall Role ObjectiveThe Junior EHS Advisor is an integrated part of the Project Team and is responsible for providing specialist advise and support on all matters relating to the Environment, Health, Safety and Welfare of site personnel. The Junior EHS Advisor will become a Subject Matter Expert on Suir’s Integrated Management System and ensure its effective implementation on site.Key Responsibilities/DutiesAssist the Senior EHS Advisor in achieving Suir’s Critical Success Factor 1. ‘To ensure we are fully compliant in all Health, Safety & Workplace Legislation’Work effectively with the Project Manager and Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management SystemEnsure the site is adequately set up with a Site-SpecificConstruction EHS Plan.Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all of Suir’s Hight RiskActivities (HRA’s) and ensure that they are identified and effectively controlled on site.Assist with the development of Risk Assessment & Method Statements (RAMs)Assist with the development of SOP’s and provide training and communication to site personnel.Become familiar with and promote the ‘Suir Way’ and its interfaces with Health & Safety.Conduct Investigations of incidents and Report on these incidents when they occur and ensure root causes are identified, mitigated and communicated.Communicate Safety Alerts through Toolbox Talk on a scheduled basis.Maintaining a live detailed record of all statutory forms and inspections Conduct regular safety auditsProvide EHS project and documentation support.Any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by the EHSManager, necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the company.Qualifications / SkillsRelevant Health and Safety Diploma / Degree.1 + years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role.Experience in construction would be an advantage.People management experience.Team player and able to build and maintain relationships bothinternal and external clients.Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.In return from Suir:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceEmployer Pension contributionContribution to Private Healthcare22 days annual leaveEmployee Wellbeing and Employee Assistance ProgrammeBike-to-Work SchemeEducational Assistance and CPDOpportunity to become part of great team and work on large scale projectsOur way of working is called the Suir Way, designed to help us continually improve. The benefit for employees is:Our people are empowered to make changes to ensure a quality install through effective ways of working.Our people have a voice and feel empowered.We have an in-built culture of innovation, learning and continuous improvement.Value is delivered every step of the journey. Our efficient processes deliver value.We have a standard, consistent and fully integrated health, safety, environment, and quality system within the business.At Suir Engineering are an equal opportunities employer, we value our greatest asset …. our People.
