IT Assistant

About the role: You'll be responsible for providing first-line technical support and maintaining TSG UK IT hardware and software. This role involves acting as an initial point of contact for IT-related queries from employees, assisting with hardware and software issues, and ensuring our new starters are set up efficiently. You will work collaboratively with the wider IT team on various projects and will be a key addition in the upkeep of our internal IT systems, including the ticketing platform.This position is based at Basildon Service Centre but will require occasional travel to other UK offices to provide on-site support. What you'll do: Provide first-line IT support: Act as the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, providing Level 1 support for hardware and software on company devices, including laptops, desktops, tablets, and phones. Onboard new employees: Ensure new starters are set up quickly and efficiently with the necessary hardware and access to company tools and resources. Manage hardware and peripherals: Maintain and troubleshoot company IT hardware, including copiers, printers, and VoIP phone systems. Assist the wider IT team: Collaborate with colleagues on network activities, system developments, and various IT projects as required. Support remote users: Provide remote assistance to field-based employees, particularly those using Android tablets. Manage IT operations: Maintain the internal IT ticketing system and liaise with third-party service and hardware providers. About you: The following skills and attributes will set you up for success in this role:  Solid knowledge of IT hardware, electronics, and Microsoft tools. Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routers, and switches. A team player who is eager to learn and take on new challenges. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Ability to travel at short notice for occasional overnight stays. (The following are desirable, but will help your application stand out!)Experience managing Android based devices Familiarity with JavaScript and SQL. Knowledge of Active Directory. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Education: (Minimum) Higher Education Qualification in IT TSG UK Career Opportunities:  This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to grow their career in IT.
