The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI’s research and innovation agenda to further Ireland’s national decarbonisation ambitions.Key Responsibilities of the role of Programme Executive The responsibilities of the Programme Executive outlined in this job description are indicative of the currently envisaged scope and may be added to or altered as required, in line with the requirement of SEAI across Business Units/Departments. They will include, but not limited to, the following:Support the implementation, analysis and communication of SEAI’s International Energy Agency Technology Collaboration Platform (TCP) related activities including:o  Coordination of the SEAI IEA TCP appointment callo  Support TCP contact points to manage task and executive committee dutieso  Manage SEAI’s dedicated IEA mailbox, internal and external querieso  Disseminate insights and coordinate best practice eventso  Develop and publish case studieso  Analysis of meeting and yearly reports the Programme Manager – International Energy Research, in data and financial reportingo  Coordinate the process to join new TCPsSupport SEAI’s EU funded research activities including:o  Support the identification and pursuit of relevant funded research opportunitieso  Support the assessment of value propositions and proposals to partner in EU funded research projectso  Coordinate the implementation of SEAI’s externally-funded research policies and procedureso  Support SEAI participants to meet project and financial reporting requirementso  Coordinate the preparation of SEAI letters of support for relevant project proposalso  Support the monitoring, management, reporting and dissemination of SEAI research performing activitiesSupport SEAI’s Horizon Europe Cluster 5 (Energy) NCP and Programme Committee functions:o  Stimulate uptake of European funded research opportunities amongst SEAI’s stakeholder baseo  Liaison with industry, academic and public sector partnerso  Development of events, website content and promotional material to support Irish engagement in EU funded research opportunitiesSupport SEAI’s UNFCCC engagementTo ensure that activity peaks within the Department are addressed in a proactive manner, it is expected that the candidate appointed to this role will need to be flexible in terms of working hours during these periods.Key Knowledge and SkillsThe knowledge and skills required include but are not limited to the following: Proven coordination, organisation and project management skills including the ability to prioritise work and manage a wide variety of tasks, including multiple competing deadlines.A proactive approach to achieving results, including managing scope, time, risk assessment, cost and qualityProven ability to clearly communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences and deliver presentations in a clear and engaging mannerA capacity to build positive working relationship with colleagues and external stakeholders; to work in multi-disciplinary teams and to network effectivelyWell-developed IT skills in MS-Office packages, e.g. Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint etc.Ability to identify gaps and suggest improvements to reports, analysis, data collection, and procedures.Ability to analyse energy related research and communicate findingsAbility to work on own initiativeEssential RequirementsThe successful candidate must be able to demonstrate;Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business or policyA minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience. Post graduate studies may be included.Knowledge and/or experience of the energy sectorProven attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Excellent team-player skills and flexibility.Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to represent SEAI in a public forumDesirable RequirementsKnowledge of the national and international energy research sectors and how these influence policy and project developmentExperience of coordinating and facilitating funded research (National/EU/International)An understanding of public sector administrationExperience facilitating and delivering information sharing, capacity building or knowledge transfer events and/or workshopsExperience analysing and synthesising technical information and communicating learnings to internal and external audiencesEligibility to Work: The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland.
