As a key member of the Nursing and IT teams, the post holder will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, quality patient care initiatives and facilitate effective interpersonal communication with colleagues in the unit(s) and hospital. They serve as a bridge between service providers, nursing, other clinic departments and organisational groups, linking clinical practice, technology, and information management to enhance patient care. The Informatics Nurse Trainer provides ongoing training and support for all clinical staff at Blackrock Health Hermitage ClinicKey responsibilities will include:Develop education and training systems and polices for MEDITECH system users.Develop educational and induction programmes for clinical IT system for all clinical staffAssist in the design and IT systems development in compliance with JCI accreditationConduct IT skills gap analyses Conduct role specific training on tools and programmes teams use dailyTrain new employees on proper use hospital of approved hardware and softwarePerform regular hospital wide trainings on system securityEvaluate the effectiveness of all educational session making improvements or changes based on feedbackMaintain updated records of training curriculum and materialsIn conjunction with project lead facilitate the training and installation of planned new EHR Acting as the primary contact for clients throughout the implementation processMulti-tasking and communicating with staff members across multiple MEDITECH applicationsEssential Requirements:Qualifications:Be registered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBIHave IT experience in use of MEDITECH and or other clinical systemsHave acquired a level 8 post registration Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic award or be willing to complete within one year of taking up post.
