With 130 inpatient beds, the hospital is a public voluntary hospital run by the Leopardstown Park Hospital Board and subject to regulation by HIQA. It provides specialist older persons’ services in the areas of rehabilitation, respite, day services and residential care.The Hospital is entering a new era of development and modernisation with some areas being upgraded and infrastructure being replaced with a new hospital as part of the HSE capital plan.Hospital Cleaner/General SupportSalary Scale for this position €33,240 to €39,379 per annum (plus weekend premiums)Role:To assist in the role of good hygiene practice within the hospital. That is keeping all areas that come within the remit of your duties, clean at all times.Responsibilities:Responsibility for cleaning of wards, departments and public areas.Washing floors.Buffing and vacuuming floors.Damp/Dust tops of lockers, bed tables, window ledges.Vacuum wards daily.Keep all toilets spotlessly clean, this includes washing floors, toilet bowls, wash hand basins dusting, and changing toilet rolls etc.Empty all bins, clean bins, put lining bag into bin as appropriate.Keeping tables and chairs in the various lounges spotlessly clean. Washing and wiping when necessary.Always check dining room after lunch. Cleaning as necessary.Pull outs on wards: Deep clean each section on specific days. This involves washing and cleaning lockers. Wash and buff the floor area. Damp dust ledges, window sills, skirting and behind radiators.Keeping all cleaning equipment (buffers, vacuum cleaners, buckets, mops, etc.)clean and ready for use. Keep storeroom clean, neat and tidy.All the above duties to be carried out using the cleaning specification provided by the hospital.Participate in all mandatory training.Comply with all Health & Safety regulations.Adhere to all relevant hospital policies.Ensure correct procedures for transferring and storage of cleaning fluids.Cover leave in the laundry/and others departments to ensure a high standard of service within the hospital.The job description indicates the main functions and responsibilities of the post and is subject to review and amendment, other specific work not covered in this job description may also be assigned from time to time.Hours of Duty/Attendance:Employment will be on the basis of 39 hours per week and will be in accordance with therosters determined by the hospital.
