We are looking for someone to work full time evenings and some weekends.. POSITION SUMMARY:The Home Health Aide is tasked with assisting the Sisters in their daily living to support their overall mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health in a home environment. This includes but is not limited to support with personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility for their well-being. All assignments are performed under the supervision of the RN or the LPN. QUALIFICATIONS: Current Home Health Aide Certification issued by a Home Health Care School or by an Agency certified by the New York State Department of Health, Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate issued by the State of New York or a Current Personal Care Aide certificate issued by the State of New YorkGood oral and written communication skillsCommitment to participate in continuing professional improvement.Compassion, respect and understandingAbility to follow HIPPA guidelines and confidentialityStrong listening skillsAbility to work together as a teamExperience with MatrixCare EMR a plusMust be fully vaccinatedRESPONSIBILITIES (include, but is not limited to):·        Provide direct resident care in the activities of daily living including grooming, dressing, mobility, transfer, eating, bathing and toileting.·        Clean and care for beside equipment and the Sisters total environment.·        Report all incidents and accidents immediately to the floor nurse.·        Documenting of ADL’s, by tracking, monitoring and reporting activity into EMR system.·        Assist with personal laundry, when necessary.·        Promote self-care activities.·        Provide continued observation and gives assistance when needed.·        Maintain clean work spaces which includes the Sisters room, utility rooms, clean linen closets, laundry areas and supply carts.·        Assist in Emergencies as needed.·        Attendance at department meetings.·        Know and carry out the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph to build unity among all created beings and promote a work environment that is characterized by respect, trust, integrity, ethical behavior, fair treatment of all, open communications, and personal accountability.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:·        While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to exhibit strength and endurance to stand, walk and sit. ·        Occasionally lifting up (up to 125 lbs.), carrying, pushing and pulling.·        Frequently exhibiting balance and coordination crouching, crawling, stooping, kneeling, manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity.·        Frequently communicating by talking, hearing and seeing.The Sisters of Saint Joseph provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristics protected by federal state or local laws.
