HGV Mechanic - Millenium Business Park, Cappagh, Dublin 11An exciting opportunity to join Ireland’s leading independent manufacturer of concrete and bituminous construction materials. We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter for our state-of-the art plant based in the Millennium Business Park, Dublin 11.The successful candidate will have full responsibility of routine maintenance and repair of commercial and plant vehicles in an efficient and safety driven manner.Key ResponsibilitiesManage Garage activities at a high level of productivity whilst ensuring excellent cost control measures.Maintain and repair commercial vehicles to ensure that they are roadworthy and in good working order.Maintain and repair plant vehicles to ensure that they are in good working order.Diagnose breakdowns.Manage repair priorities in association with the Transport Manager.Regularly update paperwork in relation to maintenance of commercial and plant vehicles.Ensure that all operations are carried out in the safest possible manner and ensure compliance regarding PPE for all staff.Liaise with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure that all statutory requirements with respects to Health and Safety and Environment are implemented & adhered to.Maintain the garage in a clean and orderly state at all times.Ensure that all garage personnel have the required standard of training to carry out the job assigned to them.Oversee effective maintenance of plants and equipment, including management of spare parts inventory, and prepare preventative maintenance schedules with maintenance team.Qualifications & Skills3 years’ experience working in a busy garage, ideally on commercial HGV vehiclesFully qualified mechanicExcellent written and oral communication and numerical skills.Solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.Excellent problem-solving skills.Excellent time management ability.Ability to work in a high-paced, deadline orientated environment.Desire to get things done; solving day-to-day issues that arise.BenefitsKilsaran is an organisation that believes that our people are our greatest strength, and our success is down to the dedication and enthusiasm of our team.
